This is one of three kits I managed to finish last year. I used a CMK resin cockpit and wheel wells, and finished it in generic USSR colors using the kit decals and Akan paints.

Mar 4, 2011 · Just for everyone's info, the kit is the old OEZ MiG 21. Not a bad kit at all, plastic a little grainy tho. I have several, and Eduard made a nice PE set for it waaay back when. Fit not bad, but just bare sidewalls for a cockpit that's it. At least OEZ got the wheel bay bulges above the wing in the right place unlike Academy.

Sep 23, 2009 · The first-gen MiG-21s are far more likely to come from Hobby Boss in any amount of time before Eduard gets 'round to it. And frankly that would be fine with me, as the 1/32 Trumpeter MiG-21F-13 is a nice kit, scaled down it would be just fine!

I had shown up to do a demo and they were unpacking their 2013 ‘Build the Same Kit’ subject, the Eduard 1:48 MiG-21BIS. “Nice kit,” I thought as I looked through the box.
Mar 9, 2022 · The problem is the Eduard MiG-21Bis is basicly the MF set with a couple of new parts for the Bis variant. The fuselage base is the same for both model kits. Therefore there is the difference in nose diameter and its shape between the model and real thing. The nose of the MiG-21Bis was slightly wider just aft of the intake lip.
